Windsor Open Meet Jan 2010

Bruce Snodgrass  Head Coach writes..

Chalfont sent a small team of 17 swimmers to the annual Windsor Swim Meet at the end of January. The team picked up three medals over the weekend. Giles Westgarth silver in the 100 Breast, Emily Lloyd bronze in the 100 Back and Jessica Franks a bronze in the 400 IM.

Over the course of the two days, the entire team swam PB after PB and some of the swimmers had a real ‘break through’ and swam faster than they could imagine at this point of the year. Well done to Matthew Penning-Lambert on achieving his first District qualifying time.

For the team to have swum so well, after having such a long break over Christmas, pool closures and snow days, was a fantastic surprise and very promising for the year ahead.

Congratulations to all you swimmers for a job well done!

Thames Valley League - Rd 1 6th Feb 2010

Assistant Head Coach Guy Massey says .......   "Absolutely cracking - the draw on paper looked hard, the kids swam out of their skins "

Chalfont Otters had a resounding win on Saturday night, gaining first place in nearly half of the events.  Our consistency and strength in depth shone through and the fact there were no DQ's showed that the technical training paid off.  There were some spectacular wins and many individual outstanding performances.  The Otters held first place throughout the entire meet with the final scores being:-

Chalfont Otters 210
Windsor188
Newbury 185
Wycombe 130
Reading 99
Amersham B 74

We wait to see who our opposition are in the second (and now final) gala in the Thames Valley League on the 6th March - at the moment we are in a great position; congratulations to all who took part or helped on the night.

Thanks also to Guy for the Happy Meals at Beaconsfield Services after the event - thoroughly earned by the team!!
